For nearly three decades I’ve worked at the intersection of analytics, education, and student success – helping institutions not just measure what matters, but act on it.
I’m the Director of Institutional Research at Manhattan University, a Lasallian Catholic Hispanic-Serving Institution in the Bronx, where I lead an AI-first IR office. We don’t use AI as a productivity shortcut. We’ve restructured how the office thinks, operates, and serves the institution around it.
My path here ran through mechanical engineering, information management, and a doctorate focused on first-generation college student persistence. I came to analytics through systems thinking – and through people who needed institutions to work.
I believe the question isn’t whether AI will transform institutional research. It already is. The question is whether that transformation will serve students and institutions well, or simply make bad decisions faster. My work lives in that gap.
